9/11 third tower mystery 'solved'

The final mystery of 9/11 will soon be solved, according to US experts investigating the collapse of the third tower at the World Trade Center.

The 47-story third tower, known as Tower Seven, collapsed seven hours after the twin towers.


Investigators are expected to say ordinary fires on several different floors caused the collapse.

Rebuilding at 9/11 Site Runs Late, Report Says


At the World Trade Center site, the memorial to the people who died on Sept. 11, 2001, will not be open to the public in time for the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attack, as had been previously announced.

The $2.5 billion PATH station and transit hub nearby are not only behind schedule and over budget, but the final design is not even finished.

Guantanamo judge orders separate hearings for 9/11 defendants following intimidation claims

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico: A U.S. military judge on Tuesday ordered separate hearings for five men accused in the Sept. 11 attacks, responding to complaints that the attacks' alleged mastermind intimidated others, defense lawyers said.

Judge Ralph Kohlmann, a Marine colonel, scheduled individual appearances for each of the five men at pretrial hearings at Guantanamo Bay next week to address whether they want help from Pentagon-appointed attorneys, according to their lawyers.

9/11 attacks catalyst for medic's enlisting at 17

CAMP STRIKER, Iraq — "I was 16 years old when 9/11 happened, and being the hot-blooded person that I am, I joined the Army on my 17th birthday," said Spc. Jontel Watson, a 3rd Platoon, Company C, 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment combat medic.

"I graduated (from high school) early and went to basic training in 2002."
